The Solution

Mitel, supplier of IP communication solutions and Inia, integrator of Unified Communications are supplying IP telephony solutions to Adecco's new head office in Groot-Bijgaarden. Adecco Benelux, with 350 offices and 1750 workplaces, is gradually changing over to IP telephony, with the aim to dramatically reduce telephone costs and at the same time improve the accessibility and flexibility of employees.

By using Mitel's 5330 IP telephone hot desking, employees are able to use their personal code to access all their own functionalities and rights from their own telephone on any other company telephone. A fax-to-mail application allows them to receive fax messages electronically in their mailbox.

Call Centre integration

With a view to the many telephone contacts they have, the move by Adecco Belgium and Adecco Netherlands to IP telephony will result in substantial cost savings on their telephone bills. The plan is to also integrate the Dutch Adecco call centre into the new IP telephony system as soon as possible. Over time the Mitel solution will also provide the opportunity to change over to a Unified Communications environment. This is based on a combination of Mitel and Microsoft technology, and will also enable video conferencing, among other things.

Because of its expertise in both Microsoft and Mitel technology INIA was chosen as the selected partner for this project. The implementation of Unified Communications means that the communication processes within the company need to be synchronised and embedded within the operational processes.

"We will be able to achieve significant cost savings"

Bjorn Van Reet, ICT Director Adecco Belgium, has the following to say about the further developments: "By the end of this year 25 Adecco offices will be using Mitel IP telephony. After this, over a period of 3 to 5 years, our entire Benelux office network will make the change. Because the internal telephone traffic also uses an IP network, we will be able to achieve significant cost savings."

Adecco"The move to a new office was the immediate reason for us to change to an IP telephony system," says Bjorn Van Reet. "For our employees this means that they can work more flexibly, either on site at the customer's premises, from another branch or from home. They can always be reached on one fixed telephone number."
